Privacy Notice

Who this notice covers

This notice is issued by SunCare Medical Supply of Central Florida, 1950 Lee Rd, Suite 209, Winter Park, FL 32789. It covers this website and the information you give us when you contact us or order equipment.

Your health information is covered by a separate document with stronger legal force: our Notice of Privacy Practices, issued under HIPAA. We provide it when you become a customer, and you can ask us for a copy at any time. Where the two documents overlap, the Notice of Privacy Practices governs.

What this website collects

Almost nothing, and none of it identifies you. Specifically:

• No cookies. This site does not set any.
• No cookies, and nothing that follows you. We measure how many people visit each page using Cloudflare Web Analytics. It sets no cookie, stores nothing on your device, does not fingerprint your browser, and cannot follow you to any other website. There is no Google Analytics, no advertising pixel, no tag manager and no session recording. See "How visits are counted" below.
• Almost nothing loads from anyone else. No videos, chat widgets or social buttons anywhere, and fonts are served from our own site rather than a font network, so no font network learns that you visited. There are exactly two exceptions and both are described on this page: Cloudflare's analytics script, and the map on the contact page, which stays switched off until you press "Show map". Nothing reaches Google before you press it.
• No forms. We deliberately do not run a contact form. Nothing you type on this website is transmitted to us or to anyone else.
• One setting stored on your device. If you switch between the light and dark version of this site, your choice is saved in your own browser under the name "sc-theme". It never leaves your device and we cannot read it. Clearing your browser data removes it.

How visits are counted

This site is hosted by Cloudflare, and we use Cloudflare Web Analytics to see how many people visit each page. A small script reports the page you viewed, roughly how long it took to load, the site you arrived from if any, and your approximate country. That is the whole list.

What it deliberately does not do matters more: it sets no cookie, stores nothing on your device, and does not fingerprint your browser. It cannot recognise you on a second visit, and it cannot follow you to any other website, because it has nothing to recognise you by. We chose it over Google Analytics for exactly that reason.

Separately, Cloudflare's servers keep short-term technical logs of requests, which can include your IP address and the time, used to deliver the site and defend it against attack.

We see totals, not people. None of it is connected to your customer record, your order, or any health information we hold about you. If you would rather not be counted at all, any browser content blocker will stop the script, and the site works normally without it.

What we collect when you contact us

When you call, fax, email or visit, we collect what you choose to tell us. For an order that usually includes your name and contact details, your insurance details, your prescribing physician, and the clinical information needed to supply the right equipment and to document the claim.

We ask you to keep detailed medical history out of ordinary email, because email is not a secure channel. Use the phone or the fax line for anything clinical.

How we use it

• To answer your question and work out what you actually need.
• To verify your coverage and tell you your cost before we deliver anything.
• To supply, deliver, set up, service, repair and collect equipment.
• To bill Medicare or your plan, and to keep the records that billing requires.
• To meet our obligations under federal and Florida law, including accreditation and licensing requirements.

Who we share it with

Only the parties needed to do the above:

• Your health plan or Medicare, to verify benefits and submit claims.
• Your physician or referring clinician, to obtain or clarify documentation.
• Manufacturers and carriers, where an item ships directly or goes back for warranty service.
• Government agencies, auditors and accreditors, where the law or our accreditation requires it.

We do not sell your information, and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing. Under HIPAA, most sales of health information and most marketing uses require your written authorization, and we do not seek one.

How long we keep it

Records connected to an order are kept for as long as federal and Florida law require for a DMEPOS supplier, which is longer than most people expect, and then disposed of securely. Ask the privacy officer if you want the current retention period for a specific record.

Your rights

If you are a patient or customer, HIPAA gives you specific rights over your health information, including the right to see it, get a copy, ask us to correct it, ask for confidential communications, and ask for an accounting of certain disclosures. Those rights and how to use them are set out in our Notice of Privacy Practices. Call (407) 270-7308 and ask for the privacy officer, or ask us for a copy.

You can also ask us at any time to stop contacting you, and we will.

Children

This website is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from them through it. We do supply equipment for children, in which case we deal with a parent, guardian or clinician.

Changes to this notice

If we change how we handle information, we update this page and change the date at the top. Material changes to how your health information is handled are made through the Notice of Privacy Practices, which has its own effective date.
